HISTORY: Ade Adeoye, a business owner, music composer and Reggae aficionado, originated the concept of Reggae Train TV as a result of his feeling that Reggae artists were not getting the exposure that their music deserved and needed. He began taping shows of Reggae Train TV in 1987 at Clarkson Palace, a neighborhood club in the heart of Brooklyn, New York and began regularly take to the streets with a microphone and a camera crew to visit local clubs and flush out Reggae news as an integral part of the show. Using
a simple concept based on capturing live performances across the nation, discussing
Reggae issues, and displaying reggae videos, Ade was able to bring his
passion into the homes of thousands through local syndicated channels. The show
was an instant hit and the audience of Reggae Train TV skyrocketed. |
In 1998, Ade moved to Los Angeles, California, where Reggae Train TV began to broadcast on a local TV station. After about a year of running the show by himself, Ade decided to focus on building the record label and nurture compilations with some of the artists he had met over time. Today
with the success of his Reggae record label, and aspiring distribution deal with
some of the major record labels, Ade is bringing back Reggae Train TV
in a bigger way through a local Los Angeles cable Network with a team of energetic,
young and experienced individuals. |
